It took 18 months, but I convinced Garth that the theory was vindicated, by publishing a paper in a peer reviewed journal.

Planck Scale Gravity (PSG) managed to pull itself back to being consistent with experiment, by producing an equation that proved that the original prediction was wrong, but not the theory itself.

Garth admitted that the equation gives the right numbers, and that the true prediction from PSG is the same as that of general relativity for the geodetic effect. Although he had reservations about other aspects of the theory, he reluctantly put it back on the list of viable theories, as no-one had been able to fault the mathematics that showed - from the orginal premiss of the theory - that the geodetic effect could be produced from flat space, and that curvature was only one interpretation.

This seems to be a first, as everyone assumes the geodetic effect proves curvature. (The Wikipedia definition of the geodetic effect is that it arises directly from space curvature, but I've now shown an alternative interpretation.)

So the list you posted here has been changed, PSG gets put back on it towards the end of last year, here: http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?p=1896052&posted=1

Hope this is of interest, best wishes, Jonathan KerrJonathanKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04676707523510559689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14162253.post-8740106846278982692008-07-25T17:34:00.000-06:002008-07-25T17:34:00.000-06:00Wow!
