Quasi-Public Law Schools.

Public law schools are increasingly becoming de facto private colleges within public universities, with their tuititions now minimally subsidized, if subsidized at all.

Generally speaking, this isn't wrong. Law school students come from families far more affluent than the median, on average, and more importantly, are overwhelmingly headed for jobs in private practice that will provide them with more than enough compensation to pay for their educations over a reasonable period of time with loans. The debts are also manageable (albeit a serious burden) with the salaries provided by many forms of government service. There is room to subsidize legal educations, but limiting this subsidy to those who can't afford it, and to those who choose to undertake less renumerative careers, makes sense.
