Bad Economic News

Consumer confidence is at a 40 year low.

Housing prices are down 16% from a year ago, nationally.

  1. The 16% drop is in 20 major cities. According to Zillow, the nationwide drop is only 8%, and in Washington Park only 2.6%.

  3. The low in the Baltic Dry Index, a measure of shipping costs, may be good news for domestic manufacturers, as it is a sign of declining intercontinental imports.
