Who Commits And Suffers From School Violence?

In large urban public school systems, students who pose a high risk of committing violent behavior, and students who are most at risk of being victims of violence, turn out to be largely the same people. Murder statistics suggest that the same is true in the case of adults.

This reality suggests a very different approach to criminal justice than a reality in which violent criminals and victims of violent crime are predominantly drawn from two separate pools of people.

Ron Huberman in the Chicago Public Schools has radically revised the school district's approach to preventing school violence as a result.
