Grasshoppers

When I was growing up in a small town in the Midwest, grasshoppers were ubiquitous and unexceptional. They were as much a part of summer as baseball and lemonade. They don't normally swarm all over Denver, but for some reason, today, they did. I have no idea why and I'm not particularly alarmed. Perhaps, it has something to do with the fact that we are ahead of normal precipitation for both the month to date, and the year to date. Perhaps it is something else. At any rate, there were enough of them about today to be notable.
