Cell Phone App May Provide Auditory Hallucination Therapy

An improved understanding of how auditory hallucinations work in people with schizophrenia that gets so bad that the hallucinations seem easier to hear that real auditory imput has made it possible to design a new therapy to address this issue. Basically, it is a cell phone app that sends different sounds to one ear than the other over headphones, which in turn, trains patients to distinguish auditory input from a particular ear from other auditory experiences. This, in turn, can help schizophrenics learn to tame their inner voices.
