In two weeks we will learn if the People have woken up and started to right the ship sent off course by Trump 2.0, or if the end in nigh. The polls and pundits are pointing in a hopeful direction, as is the early voter turnout, but this is hardly a sure thing.
It's also exhausting to fight, and yet also exhausting to see sanity, decency, and our country go down the toilet with a new horror almost every day.
And, even if the good guys win, decisively, we still have to endure the two month lame duck session of Congress and untold other mischief to ignore the results, and then have to count on the officials elected actually using their power to the fullest.
All hope is not yet lost, but we aren't "there yet" either.
Part of the deeper question is also whether Trump 2.0 has finally discredited MAGA at a deeper level, with its failed "policies" if you can call them that, and broken the cult. Polling suggests that at least a lot of Republicans and 2024 Trump voters who don't identify as MAGA are finally breaking ranks.
