On September 30, 2008, the Senate version of the the House Pro-IP bill (S. 3325) was passed by the House and
sent to the President, whose signature was expected. While it was defanged from some previous versions, its main provisions to increase statutory damages and expand forfeiture provisions for copyright violations were passed. Also, it appears to allow criminal prosecutions involving unregistered copyrights.
