As of February 2016, there were 918,259 Democrats actively registered to vote in Colorado. Of them, 122,000 turned out to participate in the Presidential caucus in Colorado yesterday, for a record high turnout (for a caucus) of 13.3%.
Primary elections almost always have higher turnout because it is much easier to participate (often only a mail in ballot is required). But, the fact that so many Democrats were willing to take something like two to four hours out of their day to participate, depending upon their precinct, suggests that enthusiasm is high this year for Democrats in Colorado.
