We are in an economic and political era where a fairly small elite determines our society's success. I know the answers to many of these questions or at least have good ideas about what the answer look like, but a collection of questions about this has its place.
Who makes up that elite?
How much of it come through particular routes? How meritocratic are those routes?
Who is excluded from the elite by adherence to particular selection factors?
Do we get the best people in those posts? How important is it to optimize? How important is it to satisfice?
What traits influence success? How much noise is there in the data?
How good are we at removing people from the elite that don't belong there?
Intergenerational persistence?
