The Grand Opening of the bar is Friday, January 27th!!! The Calfbranders will be playing (they are rocka billy/country, awesome) and the Orangatones (Surfy, Frat-rock). So spread the word to all of your friends. The cover is only $5 after 8 PM and great drink specials all night long!!! We're located at 60 S. Broadway, 2 blocks north of the Skylark & 2 doors down from the Irish Rover. There is free parking across the street in the bank parking lot.
Those drinks can be alcoholic. This makes them especially desirable. The ancient formula of alcoholic drinks + live music = party, appears to remain true and will for the foreseeable future. So check it out.
(Full Disclosure: Last time I went, on the day they opened, they gave me a free drink, but I gave them a really big tip anyway. Tips make bartenders happy.)
Also having a Grand Opening today is the Colorado Children's Museum in Denver. It closed briefly after a fire, and had a not so grand reopening on Saturday. Donations in the amount you can afford and restocks of their recycled materials supply would be welcomed. Drinks (non-alkie, I suspect) and snacks, as well as live entertainment will also be available there in what is an all ages show. Events start around 5:30 p.m.
UPDATE: The event was quite nice, with a live snake from the zoo, face painting and a large crew of firemen on hand (presumably from the company that responded to the museum fire), and music on hand, as well as first a silent and then an live auction. There was both beer and wine, as well as shrimp, California rolls, veggies and cookies, along with non-alkie drinks. The recycled supplies were far more abundant than I would have suspected (although they can still always use more), and there was no visible (or smellable) damage from the smoke that had infiltrated the building.
