The bad news is that "Since the beginning of the year, police have killed 343 people. That’s 343 people in 110 days." In most developed nations, it is an order of magnitude smaller.
The good news is that the U.S. isn't the Philippines, a country of about 100,700,000 people (about third of the population of the U.S.) where police killed about 7,000 civilians last year in the course of their war on drugs backed by President Rodrigo Duterte, who like President Trump is a small minded man with bad ideas who somehow got elected President.
The war on drugs approach also hasn't gone well for Mexico which has one of the highest murder rates in the world.
