Harris outraised her Republican opponent, with groups including the Democratic National Committee and affiliated fundraising vehicles — among them Super Pacs, which can raise unlimited amounts from individuals — attracting more than $2.3bn and spending $1.9bn.
Trump groups and the Republican National Committee took in just over $1.8bn and spent $1.6bn.
WRT to comment #2, folks on other sites (Nate Silver's maybe) have commented that Biden really screwed the pooch with respect to deciding to run, against the advice of his advisors. And that resulted in Harris starting in the hole. As with all Monday morning quarterbacking, the missteps are obvious now. Should she have gone on Rogan? Why not is you're losing anyway.
And a question for Andrew. How strong is the discipline of the Republican senators? How many of them are hold-your-nose Trumpists and not likely to give a shit what he wants?
Biden did a horrible job of touting his accomplishments and using the bully pulpit to do so. He probably shouldn't have entered the 2024 race at all. But he did, and here we are.

The Senate GOP is less disciplined than the House. With a likely 52-53 seat majority, the possibility of picking off 3-4 Republican Senators for some more extreme measures isn't inconceivable, although it wouldn't be common. Senate Dems are less disciplined that the Senate GOP.
