96 Zones

Denver's proposed zoning code would assign property to one of 96 different zones. A draft zoning map is also now available.

The vast majority of these zones are predominantly residential zones, where housing density and form are regulated in minute detail. There are, for example, thirteen different forms of single family residential zoning in which granny flats are prohibited.

One neighborhood, Cherry Creek North, is apparently impossible to fit in any category, despite the many available to choose from, so its zoning classification is simply "Cherry Creek North."

In other zoning news, the Land Use Law Profs blog has been discontinued.

Why do I think that Peter Park's plan is going to be a giant clusterfuck?
