In a follow up to a previous post on the topic, two Denver parking enforcement officials who faked a ticket to get retribution against someone who parked a car in Denver and was rude when given a ticket have been charged with forgery and conspiracy respectively.
The felony charges carry sentences of up to eighteen months for conspiracy and up to three years for imprisonment for forgery, in each case before good time (although first offenders convicted of minor felonies are frequently places on probation rather than required to serve prison terms), plus mandatory parole periods of one and two years respectively, plus fines up $1,000 to $100,000 each, court costs and restitution. This is far more serious than the brief suspension and lack of any discipline metted out to the men by their supervisors in the Department of Public Works.
