Once again a school administrator has used a "zero tolerance" policy as
an excuse for doing something stupid, in this case seriously punishing a volleyball team captain (loss of position and five forfeited games) for the "offense" of going sober to a party to drive a drunk friend home when the police arrived (even though the cops would vouch for her sobriety and didn't charge her with anything). The most recent case involves a teen at North Andover High near Boston.
