The Campaign Contributor Class Is Small

What percentage of people make significant campaign contributions to federal elections?

About 1% of Americans adults contribute more than $200 to all federal candidates combined in a two year election cycle, and about than 0.1% of American adults make big contributions of $2,700 or more to all federal candidates combined per two year election cycle (via Open Secrets).

Hum... I know four people that make significant campaign contributions. One is liberal, professional and single. The other three are conservative, real-estate, and married with kids. All four are financially secure. So the common factor is that they have money to throw around.

Cheers,
Guy

@Guy,
True.
Money to throw around.
We are retired and have sufficient funds.
This year, we have been making blue political contributions. Because we can. Because the stock market keeps going up.
