Welcome to Colorado!

According to the Rocky Mountain News:

Some 1,900 Hurricane Katrina evacuees have come to metro Denver over the past month; a total of more than 3,000 have located in Colorado since the hurricane hit.

Colorado Luis has some insights on how the press has viewed this event. He also notes that people can go beyond stereotypes, noting that he is a Chicano skier, and that their roots in the Big Easy will not render them incapable of life in the Mile High City.

Denver is a vibrant city and there are few other places in the nation I can name that would be a better place to make a fresh start. I wish each and every new resident of Colorado the best.
